Welcome to u-CARE !!!

Multi drug resistant (MDR) Escherichia coli have caused several community associated outbreaks resulting in considerable medical, economical and social infliction during the last decade throughout the globe. Once a harmless organism, it has become the commonest cause of outpatient infections, diarrheal diseases and urinary tract infections. Hence, there is a dire need of a database that can provide a comprehensive compilation of antibiotic resistance information of this organism using different bioinformatics resources viz. databases and prediction tools.

User friendly Comprehensive Antibiotic resistance Repository of Escherichia coli (u-CARE) is a manually curated database which dissects different strains of Escherichia coli on both reductive (antibiotic resistance genes, SNP conferring antibiotic resistance, transcription factors involved in antibiotic resistance) and holistic levels (genome specific Operons and pathogenic islands). Moreover, its rich user interface provides the freedom to access antibiotics from its u-CARE drug id, Pubchem CID, antibiotic name, and antibiotic resistance gene using u-CARE gene id, NCBI gene symbol, NCBI gene id, UNIPROT id and Genpept id.
